Shipbuilder celebrates 10 years anniversary – and in 2022 maritime digitalization will look like this

EnglishNews

As Shipbuilder we celebrate our 10 years anniversary and we are not going to that pass unnoticed. So much has happened in the past 10 years, simply fantastic. Geert Schouten, director-owner of Shipbuilder: ‘First of all I would like to thank all customers and collaborators. Without them there would be no Shipbuilder, just like that. In 10 years time we have grown into a knowledge partner for successful maritime digitalization. It is great that Shipbuilder as such can lead the maritime sector as a company. And we will maintain our role as a game-changer for the maritime sector.” Let’s take a look at the developments at Shipbuilder so far, and to the future.

10 years Shipbuilder:
Digitalization of projects, VR/AR, Digital Twin and Shipbuilder SENSE!

“We have really developed incredibly much in recent years,” Geert says. “We started as Shipbuilder Software, because we saw that maritime projects can do so much better when there is one truth, the so-called single source of truth. With our platform we have digitalized maritime projects and processes and thus improved them enormously.

We have also developed into a party that has reinvented and improved the Digital Twin concept. We make project data more transparent by making them available in real-time, in CAD-models as well as in Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR). As a result, all information about the construction of a ship is easily accessible.

I am also proud of our new service, Shipbuilder SENSE. One mouse click provides you with all project information, derived from hundreds of Word, Excel and PDF documents, in a structured data network, with the speed and accuracy that only software can provide. The project information is presented in a clear overview via a dashboard. And we’re only just getting started with this.”

Shipbuilder 2022 > Intelligent Maritime Digitalization

“For 2022 we have chosen the theme Intelligent Maritime Digitalization. In the maritime sector, we see that digitalization has become an essential part of digital innovation. But, is it done in a smart and intelligent way? To do this as efficiently as possible, we see that training people in the sector is of great importance. And as knowledge about digitalization increases, engineers and project managers also need digital tools to make their processes and projects successful. To accelerate this, we will add more Artificial Intelligence techniques to our software in 2022. In 2022 we will also offer knowledge videos in which we highlight important topics for successful digitalization.
